Security is a paramount factor when it comes to any organization’s accounting and finances. Oracle has been working in the cloud and on-premises systems for quite a few years now and has one of the most robust systems with a secure container which can only be used by the user of that specific organization just like in the on-Premises system. Lots of organizations are still utilizing their on-premises Oracle systems and not ready to switch over into the Oracle Cloud infrastructure due to concerns of security. Unlike the on-premises systems which have a greater tendency to go have lower uptime issues, Oracle cloud systems have been maintaining high uptime of all of their systems with minimal to no outage reports depending on the application and datacenter locations.

Why switch to Oracle Cloud?

With the new cloud systems Oracle is in charge of all the infrastructure and Oracle has built data centers across the different countries with each Organization having their own isolated application containers with an always-on protection which only that organization has access to. Each of their data centers are built with compliance of TIA/ANSI -942-A Tier 3 or Tier 4 centers. These special containers have special encryption keys which restrict others from being able to look into highly critical data including Oracle employees are unable to get into the data of any organization. All Oracle infrastructure communications with the customers utilizing a TLS ciphers and also utilizes digitally signed public keys to prevent any tampering. They have also built fault tolerant data centers with high availability and automatic backups of the data centers. You can back up the Oracle cloud services utilizing the LCM procedures already in place using EPM Automate for EPM products or Oracle designated backup procedures and have a scheduled backup on a regular time period based on your requirements. For extra protection on limiting who has access to the cloud environment, you can force all access to the Oracle EPM cloud only from certain IP addresses by utilizing Firewall rule. This allows you to make all connections to be directed through the security walls in place by your organization and allowing all access to come only through your firewall. All communication with the cloud services is also encrypted with 128bit authentication or better.

Oracle periodically updates and patches all their software in the cloud so that they are up to date on a regularly controlled time frame so that the system is up to date with the latest fixes for security. Oracle and the organization shares the responsibility of security for the cloud connection of the browsers, operating systems, network, network connections and computers used to access the environment as part of the organization’s users and groups at the organization are the responsibility of the organization while Oracle is responsible for the physical and virtual security of infrastructure hardware and software. The production environment utilizes minimalistic access for all users involved with multi factor authentication in place and it is regularly monitored Oracle revokes non justifiable access. Detailed security logs, role assignments and audit trails are used to monitor all activities of all the systems and infrastructures.

ParadigmSES can guide you through the steps of moving from an on-Premises system to the cloud system utilizing one of the top industry’s best and robust cloud systems. It is time for you to move into the Oracle Cloud system just like many fortune 500 companies have already moved into that space and converted their systems from an on-premises system only to partially or fully cloud based systems.
