OneStream XF uses Alternate Hierarchies to help group Base Members under Parent Entities. The usage of Alternate Hierarchies helps with streamlining and standardizing reporting. For entity dimensions to show translations and eliminations, it is necessary to display them using alternate ways (ex: geography, business unit, tax, etc.).

Relationships

In general, relationships in OneStream XF are defined as having a parent, child, sibling relationship and Dimension Members can have many relationships. If a member is removed from all relationships, OneStream XF does not delete the member but "orphans" it instead.

Members that do not have data stored in them are the only Members that can be deleted. This helps to ensure data integrity and prevent loss of information.
